Evaluation and Implementation of VE/VA Proposal in Company A under
Supplier Chain Environment
Abstract
This paper focuses on how a global supplier of supply chain of the automotive industry,
to do VE/VA feasibility evaluation and implementation. The study is to investigate and
explore how company A and related industries to do scientific evaluation of VE/VA programs
and better implementation of VE / VA program so as to maximize the cost savings.
On the one hand, as an excellent tool for optimizing the cost the supply chain, VE/VA is
recognized as one of the most important factors; on the other hand VE/VA program evaluation
and implementation needs to be fully supported from its related supply chain cooperation, so
as to minimize the investment of resources, and to maximize cost savings.
In the first place, the paper is aim to find solution of how to perform VE/VA feasibility
evaluation based on company A internal and external business-related supply chain, which
leads VE/VA proposals implementation successfully. This paper selects fuzzy comprehensive
evaluation method to establish the feasibility of the mathematical model, based on the
relevant supply chain environment. And then to build evaluation index system based on
supply chains cooperation, through AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) to determine a target
weight. A case of Company A is selected to do empirical studies and analyze the results.
And then, with more than three years working experience on VE/VA related jobs,the
author made proposal on how to improve Company A,s VE/VA implementation under the
spirit of the whole supply chain collaboration, which includes refining and improving
organizational structure and procedures; speeding up the progress of implementation through
demand Analysis of VE/VA team; carrying out scientific evaluation on VE/VA
implementation based on the assessment system of the supply chain overall efficiency
improving.
