Abstract
Being a new operational module, finance outsourcing is adapted by more and more
multi-national companies and enterprises. Finance outsourcing is able to reduce labor cost and
system and provide standardized customer service level by optimizing and integrating
operation process, putting similar work into the same business unit. China has become
another global outsourcing center after India. And within China,some cities like Shanghai,
Dalian, Chongqing and Suzhou which are famous for it's outsourcing services have become
the top choice when big company is going to make decision for their Shared Service Center
location.
Different from traditional finance department, Finance Share Service Center will employ
employees with finance & accounting background and others with language and other special
skills. It is more like a customer service company rather than a purely finance department. So
how to lead such a young team to achieve company and individual's vision and target
efficiently, and to improve both customer's and stafTs satisfaction level becomes a big task
for all the function managers. To decide whether the leadership is efficient or not, it is reflects
not only in the leader's individual performance but his staff individual performance and the
team's overall performance as well.
I chose Celestica Technology Consultancy (CTC) as the research sample, focus on the 3
function managers' leadership style and efficiency and how these two factors inter-react. I try
to conclude the important proposition from the previous leadership research and theory, and
from the case study, we will try to conclude the leadership style of the 3 function managers,
and try to compare function managers individual performance and how it influences the
team's overall performance. We try to provide the information from multi-channels and actual
survey data to show the current situation of CTC, then try to put forward the suitable
leadership style for CTC, and help the fiinction manager to improve their management skills,
so as to strengthen the overall leadership.
