ABSTRACT
Since the 21st century, with the development of science and technology and the
intensification of industrial renewal, innovation has become an important source of power
for national development, and modern technology ininformation, energy, aerospace,
environmental engineering, bioengineering and other emerging industries have put forward
a variety of needs for the performance of materials, especially for advanced inorganic
non-metallic materials putforward more and higherrequirements. The researchand
development of new materials has become a strong support point for the development of
cutting-edge technologies and breakthroughs, and has played a subversive and leading role
in the transformation and renewal of new technologies and industries. Compared with
developed countries in the West, Material industry in China started late and there is still
much room for improvement. In recent years, driven by the strong demand from the
downstreammarketandthesupportofthenationalindustrialpolicy,Inorganic
non-metallic materials industry in Chinahas maintained a high growth rate and has
continuedtopromoteproductstructure,industryclusteringandindustrychain
modernization. We need to seize opportunities and meet challenges. The key to gaining an
advantage in the market competition is to constantly meet the needs of customers and to
bring forth new products.. Therefore, it iscrucial to introduce more advanced R&D
management theories andimplement suitable new productdevelopment management
improvements to meet market demand, shorten R&D cycles, reduce R&D costs, improve
product quality and maintain and strengthen the core competitiveness of the enterprise.
Based on the Integrated Product Development (IPD) theory, this paper researches a
new product development management system that is suitable for the actual situation of
Company Y, so as to improve the R&D capability and enhance the market competitiveness
of CompanyY. Firstly, theresearch backgroundand significance ofthe thesisare
introduced, the research methodology is explained, and the core ideas of theories related to
R&D management and IPD theory and their applications are systematically described and
summarized, compared and selected. Secondly, the main products, revenue and market
situation of company Y are briefly outlined, and the current situation of R&D such as R&D
investment and previous achievements, basic situation of R&D department personnel and
R&D process of company Y are deeplyunderstood and analyzed. The research and
development system of company Y is analysed and diagnosed by means of departmental
interviews and literature survey. Then, based on the main ideaof IPD, constructive
