A study of design and implementation scheme of cleaner production in A
company
ABSTRACT
As a fundamental industry for the national economy, Glass manufacturing industry is facing
challenges of high energy consumption,mining resource consumption, serious impacts on the
environment and stringent regulation in recent years. In addition China is gradually starting
carbon trade, this makes corporate environmental costs will be further increased. These
factors forced the traditional glass industry to make changes in theirs attitude toward to
sustainable development. There is no doubt, if a company doesn't actively implement cleaner
production, to improve their image of high energy consumption and pollution, it will affect
the company’s development. Through implementation of cleaner production, company will be
able to improve its energy efficiency, reduce pollution; as well reduces its cost and improve it
financial performance. Therefore to implement cleaner production is a win-win solution by
improving environmental and financial performance.
This article is beginning with systematic and comprehensive introduction of the definition and
theories of cleaner production, domestic and international development of cleaner production,
followed by a case study of implementation of cleaner production in A Company (A glass
manufacturing company). Through assessment of the level of cleaner production, to reveals
the necessity and urgency of implementation of cleaner production in A company. Based on
the reality and theories of cleaner production, designed a scheme of implementation of cleaner
production programs. Further through assessment in critical areas provided potential cleaner
production improvement projects and then screening of potential projects by using designed
screening model to determine the list of recommended projects. By using economic tools,
analyzed the financial and social benefits of implementation of cleaner production program of
in A company. Finally, provided conclusion and positive outlooks of cleaner production
implementation in A company and glass industry.
