ABSTRACT
Since the beginning of Chinese reforming and opening, joint venture
has played a very important role in the process of Chinese economic
construction as a new economic form. Sino-French joint ventures
performance is eye-catching almost in all the crucial industry in China.
With the fast development of Chinese economy, the operating
environment has greatly changed and Sino-French joint ventures met a
lot of problems which resulted in some of them going to splitting,
individual proprietorship or bankrupt. One of the main reasons is the
culture difference which induces cross-culture management problems.
Whether an enterprise is able to deal properly with the problems caused
by culture differences or not will largely determine its success or failure.
After summarizing cross-culture-related scientific or technical literature,
this small thesis studies some surface management problems of a Sino-
French joint venture SA-TEE from the perspective of culture difference
to analyze the thoughts and behaviors of both the cooperating sides to
find out the essential culture-related reasons. Radar images visually
illustrate the differences between typical culture dimensions, culture
centerline to indicate possibly adjusting direction of the relevant culture
factors. Integrated with the real management practice of enterprise core
competitiveness construction, cross-culture philosophy and method have
been combined with the project management and achieved certain
success.
