Thenumberofsocialmediausersacrosstheglobegrewbymorethan20%overthepast12months,withwell
overone-thirdoftheworld’spopulationnowusingsocialmediaeverymonth.Mobilesocialmediauseisgrowing
evenfaster,withglobalmonthlyactiveusernumbersup30%year-on-yeartoreachmorethan2.5billion.
Mobileconnectivitycontinuestogrowtoo,andtheaveragemobileconnectionisgettingfasteraswell.Nearly
two-thirdsoftheworld’spopulationnowusesamobilephone,andwith55%ofallactiveconnectionsnow
comingfromsmartphones,it’slikelythatmorethanhalfoftheworld’spopulationnowusesasmartphone.
