本文正是在这样的市场形势背景下,基于戴尔公司转型前后的变化,对戴尔公司
的差异化竞争策略在服务器市场上表现的变化,做了一次深入的调查分析。首先,论
文从戴尔公司的转型动机和目标入手进行分析,通过对当前戴尔公司在产品线、内部
组织结构上所完成的变革做出总结和归纳。其次,分析了中国服务器企业市场当前的
竞争状况,同时对未来的服务器市场的趋势做了宏观预测。佐证了戴尔公司和其他竞
争对手在服务器市场中现在处在的位置。最后,通过SWOT分析有针对性地为戴尔公
司如何发挥自身优势,扬长避短在服务器市场的发挥竞争优势提出了建议。希望戴尔
公司在中国的企业级服务器市场中,能够更加适应未来市场的变化和发展。

X86 Server competitive strategy research of Dell Inc. in the context of
service oriented transformation
Abstract
Nowadays opportunities and challenges are coexists in Chinese x86 server market. On the
one hand,the features of x86 servers is very standardized, the market is flooded with a variety
of different brands of server products but with quiet similar functions. This makes
profitability of server product which has been already homogenized even worse. On the other
hand, new growth point of IT industry such as cloud computing, big data and other
information technology applications emerge, also expanded the original flagging server
market demand. This makes competition in server market whose original growth rate is not
fast becomes increasingly fierce. In such a situation, how to implement a differentiate
competitive strategy, making a balance between expanding market share and maintaining
profits is the choice which every server vendors will have to face with.
This article is written in this context of current market situation, by an in.depth
investigation and analysis on the basis of the server market performance differences Dell Inc.
have been made before and after Dell's solution oriented strategic transformation. First, the
paper began with the analysis of the motives and goals of Dell's transition. Through the
review and summarize for the transition progress Dell have been made on product line and the
internal organization conclude that Dell Inc. has successfully step into the role of solution
provider roles. Secondly, through five.force model to analyze the competitive situation of
Chinese server market. Combined it with the trend of Chinese economic development in the
future come up with a simple prediction for Chinese server market. Corroborated Dell's
competitive position in Chinese server market by a comparison of Dell's server market
performance with other competitors. Finally, A SWOT analysis is gave for operable
approaches to help Dell Inc. to gain competitive advantages in Chinese server market in the
future. I hope Dell can be more responsive to server's market changes and developments.
