ABSTRACT
For the Chinese traditional manufactories, the increasing fierce marketing competition
made us realize that we can reduce the purchasing cost effectively by the supply chain
management to make more benefits for the manufactories. The article discussed the
importance of reducing purchasing cost for manufactories from the perspective of supplier
selection and continuous improvement.
Based on the theory of supplier selection and continuous improvement and the realistic
operation (PDCA)of K Company, this article discussed the topics involving the evaluation of
K Company's supplier selection decision, the continuous improvement target and solution,
implementing and monitoring the corresponding continuous improvement measures and
identifying the post effect to standardize the process. With great efforts of supplier
continuous improvement made, the purchasing cost of K Company has been reduced
obviously. As a result, so have the manufacturing cost and sales price. Meanwhile, the
marketing competitiveness of K Company will be increased and the sales will be promoted.
Based on the actual operation and achievement regarding K Company's supplier
selection and continuous improvement, the article discussed the important effect of supplier
selection and continuous improvement on reducing the purchasing cost and increasing the
marketing competitiveness of the company. This can be reference and guidance for Chinese
conditional manufactories to some extent.
